What the experts have to say about Calvin Harris’ home:
“Nestled in the hills of Southern California this home is view oriented but also creates the feel of a multilevel residence wrapped around a central courtyard of walkways and water. A slight Asian flavor can be found in the slatted entrance gate edged with bamboo, the dark honey mahogany floors, and roof rafter details. But the use of warm, natural materials, stone and slate, make this a contemporary western classic. Water is brought to the edge of the living space, creating a delightful floating effect. The pool and patio area are also enhanced my Marc’s signature use of large sculpted bowls – here filled with fire and greenery.” states Whipple Russell Architects. It even has a car court that can fit up to 10 cars, a master suite with floor-to-ceiling windows and a fireplace, and dark wood floors throughout the residence.
Exactly what is an Infinity Pool?
An Infinity Pool Design concept is one of the most high end and dramatic pool features homeowners can add, that is why so may celebrities do! Architectural achievements in their own right, you can often find these types of pools anchored to hillsides and overlooking sweeping vistas with spectacular views. There are many names given to this type of pool.
Many Names But The Same Effect
You may have heard it referred to as a negative edge pool, a zero edge pool, a forever pool, disappearing edge, or a vanishing edge pool. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, so pick whichever name you’d like – the effect is the same. A reflecting or swimming pool where the water flows over one or more edges and produces a visual effect of a swimming pool where the water has no boundary and appears to go on forever. Such pools are often designed so that the edge of the pool appears to merge with a larger body of water, sometimes flowing into the ocean or appearing to merge with the sky. You can find these pools at exotic resorts and high end luxury homes around the world.
